Ahhhh....Death and Taxes

Our poor state, always making the AP news stories but for all the wrong reasons.

This time for taxing out of state residents for visiting/vacationing in Maine with their planes that were purchased, paid and registered not in this state. I expect we will be soon charging out-of-stater's excise tax on their cars when they vacation here. And we will have to as Maine (and a few other head in the sand states) are already being put through the ringer and being blacklisted by private pilots with future vacation plans.

This was bound to happen though with our Governor mired in thought of how to "consolidate" the entire state government into one big potato pile and lying awake at night trying to find new ways to avoid making real cuts to overly generous and greatly abused social service programs.
